Dear student,

Welcome to this edition of the career newsletter! You may have noticed that last month we did not sent out this newsletter, this was caused by a big mail migration from the GEWIS mailing, for which the mailing lists did not fully work. Also January was not such a buzy month for career activities due the exams. Yet we are happy to announce that in February we again have some nice activities lined up for you and are looking forward to seeing you all there!


Achmea Workshop - Join IT in the fight against loneliness

During the corona crisis, loneliness among young people has become even more visible. Perhaps you ever feel lonely or knew someone close to you who feels lonely? As Achmea, we want to help in the fight against loneliness among young people and adapt our services accordingly. We challenge you to help us and experience how you can make a real impact from an organization that is at the heart of society. Are you interested in IT, are you a creative thinker and would you like to brainstorm with us about how an IT solution can reduce loneliness among young people? Wervingsdagen Career Street

February 8-11
The Career Street is an online market-like event where you can get some tips on how to present yourself to the companies on a career fair and make your career plan. The Career Street will officially start from 8th of February, when an online platform will be opened. Make sure to keep an eye on that via this website!


Lecture and Q&A on Online Internships

March 1, 15:30-16:30
If you are wondering about how to make the most of an internship opportunity in a virtual world and how to work on a real-time project in the middle of a global pandemic – we have answers to all that and more! During this lecture InfoSys will talk about what it is like doing an internship in a fully online environment. Furthermore they will also tell you everything about InStep, a global internship where you get to work with students from all over the world! At InStep, students with a technical background are offered an opportunity to work on real-time STEM Internship Projects in trending areas such as: AI, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Machine Modernization, IT, IoT, Mobile Application Development You can subscribe for this interactive session via the GEWIS website.
