Thank you very much for this update. I have updated expiration of the privileges for the people on the list you provided. These privileges will expire on January 2, 2024 at 23:59.

Please keep sending these updates via the ticket system (either by re-opening this ticket or creating a new ticket). As mentioned previously, if someone joins/leaves C4 before the next update please use the 'ABC+CBC / Permission request' form, available at https://support.gewis.nl/open.php?topicId=71, to let us know about this.

Hi Maiko,

Thank you very much for this update. I have re-added the relevant privileges to the people on the list you provided. These privileges will expire on December 2, 2023 at 23:59.

I am very confident that this will not go wrong in the future, but to be sure, we have built in a six-month transition period. I expect Jort has already told you a bit about this, but here's the full rundown:

- all privileges get an expiration date, however, this is just a safe-guard not something you or C4 should depend upon,
- for the next 6 months that expiration date is only 1 month into the future,
- so to make sure everyone keeps their privileges I expect a list of all C4 members every month, and
- after 6 months the expiration date will be extended to 3 months (I expect this will then be synchronised with the quarters of the association year).

If people leave or join C4 in the meantime, you should use the 'ABC+CBC / Permission request' form, available at https://support.gewis.nl/open.php?topicId=71, to let us know about this (SO to Rink for making this possible). Use the subject to let us know whether the company admin permission should be added or removed. Select 'Member account' and provide their membership number. For the permission, only select 'GEWISWEB - Company Admin'. You should not provide any other information.

So to summarise; for the next 6 months we expect to receive an overview of who is in C4 every month, after that it will be quarterly. For each individual change, always fill in the form so that the rights can be granted/removed 'immediately'.

The reason that none of this is automated, either through LDAP or GEWISDB is that there is no guarantee the committee 'data' stays the same. For example, you may decide yet again to change the name of the committee (C4 -> €4 -> C4) or its identifier may change. The ABC-GEWIS Website team has limited staff, which makes it difficult to keep track of those kind of things (the same reason I do not change the permissions myself when I am reading the minutes of a BM), so that is why this is not automated on the website. Furthermore, these permissions allow people to effectively deface the GEWIS website as they can edit pages. So these permissions should be strictly checked and enforced.

My apologies for not updating you on the C4 member changes. I personally was not aware of the fact that this needed to happened and I assumed that it just was through the LDAP thing.

I have since updated the C4 & EAO wiki about this fact.
